Vegetarian Plus entries are awarded “Award of Excellence”

2014 U.S.A. TASTE CHAMPIONSHIPS

– AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IN NATIONAL JUDGING –

                                              

Northern California, Thursday, May 1, 2014Vege USA was selected as a winning product line in the category of retail/grocery and foodservice “Meat Replacer Frozen Entrees.”

Their submissions of “Vegan Lamb Vindaloo,” “Vegan Black Pepper Steak” and “Vegan Ginger Chicken” were all judged superior. The judging was conducted “triple blind” in Northern California by a panel of Masters of Taste selected by Chefs In America.

The protocols of “triple blind” judging include the following ground rules to ensure accurate and fair judging results.

Evaluators do not know:

  1. 1.   Who the manufacturer is
  2. 2.   What the product variety or appellation is
  3. 3.   What the other evaluators’ scores and comments are during evaluation

The American Masters Of Taste judging panel agreed that, “Vege USA has created meat replacer-based entrees that use quality ingredients and ingenious recipes to please both regular consumers of meat substitutes and consumers for which meat substitute meals are something new.”

The judging was a part of the on-going U.S.A. Taste Championships founded in 1986 with the establishment of Chefs In America, whose professional culinary board members gather weekly to conduct taste tests on a myriad of foodservice and retail grocery products.

Vege USA  was declared a U.S.A. Taste Champion.
